Hm i use a normal paint programm (like PS) to make a picture and then i convert it with wally. :)

wally is a little program which converts .bmp files into .wad files... :)

I've always used Half-Life Logo Creator.
Get it here. (http://files.filefront.com/12412)

1. Download and open it.
2. Select your file from your harddrive. I find it is best to use a .bmp (bitmap) format.
3. Set the width/height. These dimensions must be divisable by 16. The program will tell you if your decal is too big, and will show a preview, so you can judge the proportions and try to keep them even (so the picture doesn't stretch/compress).
4. You can set transparency, but be careful. Make sure the area you want to make transparent is all the same color.
5. Set your file directorys, and select Create. Easy

IMPORTANT: Your image Width x Height dimensions must be divisible by 16. eg 32x32, 48x96, etc. Your image cannot be bigger than 15.7kb size in bmp format.
Tip: To make a transparent section of your image, fill the area with RGB colour 0 255 0 (pure blue).
