From Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/47435);

Last night, Valve representatives confirmed to Shacknews that the studio's upcoming trio of Source-powered games will ship for all announced platforms on October 9, 2007. The suite, sold at retail and through Valve's Steam download service, will consist of the shooter sequel Half-Life 2: Episode Two, the team-based multiplayer game Team Fortress 2, and the action/puzzle game Portal. Valve is handling development of the games on PC and Xbox 360, with EA UK's Chertsey, Surrey office bringing the titles to PlayStation 3.

Electronic Arts is distributing the games at retail as a package entitled Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, which also includes the original Half-Life 2 and last year's Half-Life 2: Episode One. It will sell for $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Decent interview about Portal and TF2.
Apparently the European release date is October 12th.

Portal made me feel a bit sick after a while.

The medic is an underused class? I guess if a medic in a clan match wasn't used the team would be laughed at. I guess TF2 will change the way certain classes are used now anyway.

Release date is a bit odd, why not a world wide release date?

The invincible thing is nice. Maps like dustbowl where the first 5 minutes involves mindless spam. The only chance of getting past this first part is to wait for them to run out of grens etc.

Shame theres no cross-platform play. I did wonder though as technically anyone using a joypad simply cannot react as quick as people with a keyboard and mouse. PC gaming ftw!

Hmm Im not sure weather to get it for the Xbox 360 or PC
Ups for getting it on 360: is that it wont crash(as much, I don't really have over heating problem with my xbox.)
Ups for PC: Keyboard and mouse and it'll be cheaper.

Shame its not going to go on Wii

Can someone tell me how much it comes to overall to pre-order it in the UK, please?
As it says "The cost of this offer is $44.95 Plus tax"
Is that £22.50 + Tax, or what?

Edit---

Nm. I see it.

Cost$44.95
Estimated tax$7.87
Total$52.82

about £26 then.

So if I wanted to physically buy and own TF2 I have to buy HL2 and Episode One again (!) as part of this box of oranges?
