Updates to the Steam Client have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
Steam Client
Changed Steam news messages to not display during game launch or Windows startup
Improved offline detection when Steam launches during Windows startup (helps with wireless connection delays)
Fixed a crash which would occur when Steam had been running for a long period of time on certain computers
Fixed confirmation dialogs when adding or removing the "Half-Life High Definition pack" via web page links
Fixed several user interface bugs
Changed games to show up in Steam as "Pre-loaded" if their content exists locally, to give users the opportunity to clean up old preloads
