I quite enjoyed NWN but the game didn't ever seem to get anywhere. Doesn't help when there's so many servers out there and you can't take your characters with you, effectively restarting from level 1 every time you played the game unless you happen to join the same server you've been on before. The only problem with that was these servers became too popular and limited to a maximum of 64 players, meaning you would spend 30 minutes trying to logon.

Anyway NWN 2. Seen a few screen shots (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/neverwinternights2/screenindex.html) online and they do looking very nice, I am interested though to see what they can do this time in regards to resolving the above issue. Maybe they need a central database where your characters are stored rather than ones that are stored on the server you play on.

Anyone here got NWN?

NWN always seemed a bit too slow-paced for my liking. Re-Installing it right now regardless.

Bored.

I'm looking forward to NWN 2. 1 was quite good although I havent played it very much. I was going to play it after I've finished Baldur's Gate 2. Havent still finished it. (Game bugged and was stuck for long time, I had to cheat my way out)

I ordered NWN yesterday, gonna give it a go and see how i get on with it. I may even setup a standalone server on the other PC if i like it.

Did you get the super-deluxe-diamond pack? or whatever they're calling it now.

They've released it many times.

On it's own
With the first expansion
With the first and second expansion.
With the expansions and extras.
On a budget label.
etc.

I got the Gold pack. Which came with Shadows of Undrentide. I bought Hordes of the Underdark separately.

As I say, i find the singleplayer to be really slow-paced, but it was always well documented that it was created as being a multi-player game primarily.

Heh. Just checked now and it -is- called the diamond pack.

The Best RPG. The Ultimate Collection. Are you looking for adventure? Do you have a friend who has always wanted to join you on an epic quest? Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition is the perfect way for new heroes to begin their journey! The Diamond Edition is now available on store shelves and includes the award-winning Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, and the Neverwinter Nights Kingmaker expansion, which includes Kingmaker, ShadowGuard, and Witch's Wake Remastered.

We played NWN for a while but it's multiplayer is much further behind than todays standards. I played alot on one server once but left when someone player killed me and stole all my items that I had gathered since starting. Characters arn't global either. I seem to remember when we were playing it it doesn't save your progress so as soon as you logout and back in your back at the start?

Miz,i bought the Deluxe Special Edition, which comes with two expansion packs. Im not sure if i'll like the game tbh, it looks complicated compared to GW and i don't like the fact that whatever you have achieved only counts on the server you levelled up on, this could put me off.

I hosted a server on one of the servers for it a while ago. It gets boring playing on your own though :p

Provided you know people who are willing to play on it it's not a problem :p
