Nintendo must be happy. PSP has done well, but wasn't the Game Boy killer some were expecting, and the Nintendo DS continues to sell at a brisk pace in Japan, Europe and America simultaneously.
Nintendo of Europe announced sales figures today that puts the machine at over 3.5 million units sold since its launch last March. Nintendogs has unsurprisingly become a hit, too, moving over 1.6 million copies, and even though Mario Kart DS has only been out since November, 800,000 people have already picked it up.
Yesterday Nintendo of America confirmed the company had sold almost four million pieces of hardware. Not a bad way for Nintendo to kick off the New Year.

Surprising really. I thought the PSP would make the DS flop. Personally I would buy the PSP.
