What system specs do you use to play BF2 ive got a pretty decent rig but 512mb of ram and i gotta play everything on low! and even then its a bit jerky

Everything is on medium. Isn't quite smooth but playable.

I bet its the 512Mb thats holding you up. I think 2Gig seems to be a new standard for gaming these days.

/me pats his new stick of 512 he got for xmas and the stolen 256 :D
means i have 1280mb :D

Runs very well for me, and i never get any lagg. I run it all on medium with view distance set to 100%.

ATi Radion 9800 Pro.
Playing it on 800x600 and all gfx settings on middle. Disabled Shadows and other useless stuff.

I read with 2 gig you could turn off the swap file within Windows XP. For now though 1 gig is doing me fine.

i wudnt recommand doing that tho SK, as if you do and you dont have enough ram windows falls over at start up, if you follow the advice on the windows help site it dont work as in safe mode it says the same thing, you actually have to format and reinstall windows, so r u really willing to risk it?

2 gig is plenty enough. This laptop is using under 800mb of swap file.
