This is one of the places I'd love to visit before I die, to visit the reactor site and take a wander around the Ghost Town. The Sarcophagus containment shield photo about halfway through is extremely haunting from a fellow photographer's point of view. It demonstrates man's pitiful last stand against an unstoppable force.
Interestingly, the word Sarcophagus is derived from a Greek word for a kind of limestone, which sarcophaguses were constructed from. This particular kind of limestone consumed what was inside within a few weeks. Within a few weeks most of the people who constructed the containment shield were dead..
Also, the statue of Prometheus, moved to Chernobyl after the accident. Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to the humans. He was banished to torture for all eternity. Very symbolic I think..
