Ive just been banned from the server by pippa, we were playing a really boring map, all we were fighting were chopper, garg, soldiers, headcrabs, chopper garg, soldiers, headcrabs, chopper garg etc (yes in that order and the map didnt finish cause it kept spawning stuff in that order) so i thought lets do something fun so i used that snark bug for a while, didnt even lag up the server or anything then pippa said dont use it! read the rules. so i stopped using it BAM kicked. joined again asked why i was kicked she said i warned you, i said you didnt you just kicked me and asked what rules. BAM kick/ban

BlackAlpha, you were using the snark exploit when you have been clearly told before not to. I asked you to stop a couple of times but you conintued, I then kicked you.
When you came back you were being argumentative of which I will not tolerate, you stated that you know it lags the server so why do it ?

You know the rules on the server so you either follow them or play elsewhere.

yea i stopped when you told me to stop, i simply wanted to know where i could find those rules that you were talking about, but you didnt wanted to tell me then you banned me. So you banned me cause i was asking for the rules? or what?

by the way it didnt lag the server up at all i was checking the ping
i just think you were either: 1. bored, you saw me use a bug so you thought, lets ban that guy. (like no 1 else is using the pick up bugs...)
or 2. you dont know how to handle the power of being an admin.

The rules have been made clear to you on a previous occasion as well as tonight, using the infinate snark exploit is NOT allowed on the server.
This is not the first time you have been asked to stop doing this, hence the ban. I banned you for 30 mins this time. If I see you doing it again I will make it a permenant ban.

BlackAlpha, whether it's a boring map or not it's not an excuse to use the snark exploit. You knew fine well that it lags the server, yet continued to do it, that in my books is not acceptable for 'whatever reason' and i would have done the same as Pippa did if i had seen you. It only takes 1 person to use it and then other players who know will think this is 'fun' and do it themselves, next you have a crashed server.

If you can't do the time then don't do the crime, simple :rolleyes:

I was neither bored nor is it a case of me not being able to handle the power of being an admin. You broked the rules of the server, not for the first time I might add.
If you dont want to be banned in future, dont break the rules!!!!!!

thats basicaly what you did with me, the way it should have been is this:

now go ban all the people that used the pick up bug, i bet the whole server will then be empty.

Well thank you for the tips, I'll bear them in mind, however I do have a condump of the whole conversation which will be put forward to the server owner!
If you wish to dispute this any more with me can you please do it in pm as arguing on the forum is not a good idea.

The reason theres a harsh ban on this exploit is from problems in the past were users intentionally crashed the server, not once but twice. Since that day anyone caught using it has been chucked off the server.

Ive had a read of the logs and thoughout the first section theres about 4 warning from Pippa. It looks like you didnt see them as you didnt reply until she obviously starting to type the command to kick you.

There was a reply from someone on the server when you asked about rules where someone presented this site.
All in all the kick and ban was actually called for. Even someone else on the server saw what was happening and gave their oppinion on why you was kicked.

The result ended with another ban tonight for the same reason, funnily enough it was due to you teaching him how to do it. He wasnt so bothered though and decided to tease the admin.

The ban is now off on the server, just be warned that the snark bug is totally forbidden on the server. You'll find most servers enforce this rule.

To be honest... I also did not know of that exploit myself just a while ago. I also did not know the rule of not using it. I'll keep my eyes out though... if someone uses it/teaches it to someone else... must I report it? Since it may crash the server...

If you are: ze hebben gelijk, het is een dikke exploit en ik kan begrijpen waarom ze er zo moeilijk over doen... misschien is de manier hoe ze moeilijk doen juist niet zo goed. Maar plaats jezelf eens in de schoenen van zo'n server admin; iemand komt op je server, gebruikt een dikke exploit en zorgt er bijna voor dat je server crasht (of hij crasht gewoon). Maar alsjeblieft accepteer het gewoon ('t is geen perm ban dus dat valt mee) en doe het niet meer :) ... ik zou je best vaker op de server willen zien namelijk.

It should really be reported as it does create problems. Most servers are much higher spec than my server so they dont suffer as bad. Like I said though the main reason we are harsh with this exploit as its crashed the server twice before.

well i wont, but i still dont like the way pippa banned me. so pippa kicked me cause i didnt see the warnings when i was fighting? well you gotta give some1 atleast 3 min to respond ffs, im not a robot that can react in less then a second.

anyway, what about the pick up bug? seems that every one is using it

BlackAlpha you are clearly not getting it.

I warned you more than once last night, and you have previously been warned about this before, you basically chose to ignore me and conintue with what you were doing. Is it my fault you didnt see the warnings that clearly everyone else did ? No.

Because of you actions you recieved a 30 minute ban, if I or any other admin see's you using the infinate snark exploit on the server again, you will recieve a permenant ban.

Certain things are allowed on the server, certain things arent i.e infinate snarks, hooking onto people to kill them. You were caught doing both of these things and punished, end of.

The pickup bug is different, its an exploit sure but I wouldnt say its one thats causing problems thoughout the server. I dont mind anyone using that as its gonna be gone soon.

Anyway theres no ban now. Lets keep it that way.
