i dont know about you but i reckon that ebay should be shut down as it is just being abused as you wouldnt try selling live8 tickets in the back of your local paper or in the newsagents front window would you it is just not done.

Thats because people wont offer you thousand pounds at the newsagent and also ebay you get access to tons of customer willing to pay silly amounts.
Also the text to get the tickets cost £1.50 thus profit margin is a whooping £998.50 and thats something like 60000%+ profit thats pretty amazing buisness by anyones standard. Yeah their principles may be f**ked up or perhaps they dont like U2.

One grand can solve a few problems where as going to the live8 gig probably give some like: bad hearing (maybe not the acts are lightweight in the noise department) or get a bad back when people drop you as you crowd surf.

what u dont think people selling tickets for extortioate amounts of which very little will go to charity, i wud not have a problem if i new like %75 was going to charity i wud say good on them but as i dont i do not like they may well say that they will but with no proof then i will stic by my guns

the tickets were free(or the price of a text whatever), whether the tickets are resold on ebay or not, makes no difference.

and dont lets be hyporcritical about this, we ALL enjoy the "fruits" of exploitation of the poor and needy from the 3rd world, everytime we go to the supermarket or clothes store.

next time when you buy a pair of jeans for a tenner, ask yourself how come they were so cheap, next time you eat a 40p bar of chocolate ask yourself how much the farmer in Bolivia got paid for his cocoa.

its also a sad fact that a major amount of money donated to the 3rd world never reaches those that need it most, its gets eaten up by "red tape" and corruption.

Dont see how, as far as im aware its not illegal to resell them, which is why Ebay allowed them to be listed. They have only been removed due to the amount of unhappy customers.

Hell i had tickets to T in the park but i couldnt go (last yr) - i sold my ticket on ebay and made a tidy sum of money...
Bob Geldof was WRONG to tell people to bid huge amounts and im GLAD ebay suspended the accounts.
If i *did* have a live8 ticket and couldnt go, i would sell it on ebay i *would* keep what money i had spent on the text compertition and all of ebay/other costs involved and give half left to charity...
