I'm new to mapping so this is probly a really simple problem that you'll laugh at me for but hey, got to learn somehow :).
I made a simple room, a weapon, a light. no gaps or anything, nothing overlaps. Should b no problems. When i try to run the mapit comes up with:

"Could not find filesystem.dll to load."

compiling in normal mode and in expert it comes up with:

"The command failed. Windows reporting the error:
'The system cannot find the file specified'

Do you want to conitune?: Yes/No"

If i click No it sstops. if i click yes it asksa again then if i press Yes again it says the same as normal compiling. Can some one PLEASE explain this to me? I followed a guide from VERC Collective to setup hammer and I dont think I did anything wrong in the map. I can post the compile log if u need it. Hope some one can help. Thanks.

Thank you Miz, that helped me a bit. now it'll compile. The trouble is, to compile it I have to select "Don't run game" which makes it entirely pointless. However, reading that, I remembered i had this problem before and I think trying to run a map through steam half-life doesnt work. im gonna run it through a seperate install. i'll get back to u if it works :). thanks again

Try using the compiler HLCC 1.4 (http://www.banzaimaps.co.uk/zipfiles/resources/Hlcc14.zip)

Thanks but I got it working. All I have to do is click "Dont run game" using normal compile (not expert) and then make a server on SC and select the map. Thanks anyway.
