View Full Version : DoD:S
Anyone have a clue whats going on with this? From the pics they posted a fair while ago, I was under the impression that it was almost ready for release.

HL1 to HL2......5 years ? Your guess is as good as mine, although im sure in true Valve fashion they'll keep us waiting and waiting.
"Summer" apparently
Doug Lombardi - The team is cranking to finish this summer. We'll be showing more after e3, and I think folks are going to be pleasantly surprised by what's developed over the past few months.

hah ha ha bassicaly not enough people bought silver or gold, so valve is like AWW CRAP..... no ones gonan have it, so this means thel either do one of two things,
1 release for free (highely doubhtful)
2 make it come with the retail version of the HL2 addon pack
also if you look at the models in the video and screenshots.... there still the origenal HL1's they have square gun barrels etc, so those need to be sorted, Also thel prob be turning the msot populer DoD maps into source and valve are slow mappers..... i just wish thed hurry up

EA releasing games for Valve is NOT a good thing, there are other "agents" valve could have used to release the game :(

heh.. not much alternatives.
EA is the biggest and seems to be the only company that will take on a Valve.
but in turn u'll see EA games being sold accross steam = laggyer steam network.

Don't forget, if it is to be released on 1st Sept. We have to wait for them pesky yanks to drag their lazy arses out of bed before anything happens. Be about 8pm tonight if anything is going to happen.

We're targeting late September for making DoD: Source available to everyone. At that time it will be available for purchase from Steam as well as in retail packs.
And like CS:Src, we plan to continue to develop and expand upon it
frequently via Steam's auto update functionality.
(26. September 2005) ;)
