Free Windows Update CD

Think its the UK only but this is a free offer from MS where they send you an Update cd which contains all updates up until to October 2003. Still good for getting most the of the OS's upto date.

Sounds dodgy.. Why would MS do this all of a sudden? I think it's a way of catching out people who are using pirated CD keys.

It will come in handy for me when i build PCs for people, although the patches/updates only go as far as October(?) 2003.

I ordered mine about a week after this topic was made.
The CDs arrived yesterday afternoon.
You get XP Service Pack 1 and about 10 Updates,
a load of Win 98 and Win ME updates,
DirectX 9B,
Windows Media Player 9
and another CD with a Firewall + Antivirus.

My system was up-to-date but it will definately come in handy for when I format.
I noticed it said Feb 2004 on the cover. I hope they do something similar when XP SP2 comes out.
Also it says Win 2000 Pro updates but I didn't notice any.
Maybe the Win XP updates crossover but I didn't notice the service packs.

In all - not bad for nowt. :)

I got mine just over a week ago and i can confirm it has service pack 4 for Win2K Pro, i used it on a guys machine at work.
