We discussed some things about a disco map just a while ago in the server. Because of that I would like to start a disco map, but I just don't want to do it all by myself. What I would like to see in this thread is idea's about a GOOD disco map. People could sure help me mapping-wise, but you must really understand the basics of it.
So idea's anyone? Or d'you wanna help?

you need lots of different music tunes so the dj can mix alot and make lots of different music.
Most disco maps become popular because of secrets and other features apart from the disco itsself. Cant think of anything off my head just yet, will have a think tomorrow.

I want to help, making prefabs and stuffs (or complete rooms as a prefab :))
The hook-mod must be used a lot.
And dancing scientists would be fun (and g-man as a dj :P)

EDIT: btw, Im also busy whit a fun map, that contains a small dancefloor with secrets.

Still started yet, sorry, destroyer :P .
But there are things coming up in my life, things I have never experienced before. So I need to deal with that first. But overall: I don't have that much time left to go out playing games, let alone mapping. So don't blame me for not starting it yet.
When things settle down, I might begin mapping this map.

Im sorry to ask stupid questions but what is a disco map currently available?
This idea sounds great and like lots of fun, but I dont really QUITE get what a disco map is. An example to see would be great thanks....

A disco map is just amusement. But the current disco maps out there has some minigames in them, so people can do other stuff than just runnin' around in the disco. SC_DISCO and that other one are disco maps with secrets/minigames in them, but the overall setting of those maps is for me kinda 'lame/empty/boring'. What I wanted to do in the first place is to make a disco and secrets which you people would like to see.

your Idea sounds good and like something that will definitly work
but one thing... the secrets should be shared. They should be fun and complex to get through so you will get intrigued by the cool secret. but dont hide them from people. Esspecially on the Fight Club server. When people are playing dont immediatly hide in the super secret coffee room, and dont let anyone (such as myself) sit and be bored and never find out where it is.
Just a thought. also If you need people to try out the first run and stuff I would love to do so.

You are right, that's why I started this thread. I need ideas from you people. What you would like to see in a map! I could also start mapping a disco map... but then I would not have the things people would like to see.

I tried it and its okay but its only a disco.... kinda boreing
As for what I want in a map..... a train
an amusement park with a train (see PARK from OP4)
that goes in a circle and stuff
I love trains
or Rides like a roller coaster or a train based ride....

Trains... a pain in the ass in the current HL engine (IMHO). But if you like that I'll probably add it.
Rollercoaster rides is simply IMPOSSIBLE mapping-wise. The coaster itself will get blocked if its rotated (player blocks it), this occurs many times in maps like carnival2... And you won't get the same feeling of going fast, and there's way to add real sound to it. What I really want to do right now is to get to know the editor for HL2 and create a real rollercoaster ride. It should be possible for more people to sit in a coaster since its possible to have an entity IN an entity (*drool*). You could sit in the coaster the same way you get in the buggy (don't ask me how I know this :P ).

Will do!
But I just wanted a vehicle on a track, with a creative shape that I could ride around the map and see what all the other people are doing, IE dancing in the disco room or playing mini games. Make it simple, hold people and come in above all the action so you can watch and stuff... thats what I like to do! :D
