The shield and autosnipers.

Here's my complaint about the shield and the autosnipers...

First of all, I don't get why the AWP was disabled in the first place... but that's another story, a story I won't tell now.

Anyways, the main point is... if the AWP got disabled, than why not the shield and autosnipers as well? They really should be gone... even more now the AWP is disabled.

I don't see why they HAVE to be disabled just because the AWP has been but as i said in the irc channel i don't really like any sniper rifle in CS.

To be honest I don't think there would be much point in restricting them, as not many people use them.

The shield is useless anyway, it doesn't stop you getting killed any sooner :P

tbfh i was talking to my m8 pinta the other day and he said.. and i quote "the banlist will never be pro if they don't unrestrict the awp" i think that you should unrestrict all the guns. If you think that sniper rifles aren't fair then don't play or practice more so you can become a skilled sniper.

Because..

The AWP is the only weapon in game (except maybe the shotgun) which will almost always kill in one shot. Power-wise, it's way out of line with all the other weapons. And more often than not I'm At least with the autosnipers the player has to score at least two chest hits, while controlling the recoil, or go for the headshot, the same applies to most of the other rifles.

As Prometheus said, I wouldn't mind if all the sniper weapons were removed from the game altogther.

By the way, I'm sorry if I've not been around often enough for you, I do have to work nearly 50 hours a week, but I'm around as often as I can be..

Digi: What's so pro about using the AWP over the other sniper rifles? If people are supposedly so good, they should be able to score just as many kills with the lower powered Steyr Scout. Why do they HAVE to have the one-hit-kill weapon?

The AWP is not a rail gun like Quake 3 or an Instagib weapon in Unreal Tournament... it requires skill to actually aim as it's not always that accurate.

It was restricted because the majority of the community wanted it to be.

If the general consensus within the community is that the autosnipers and shield should be removed, then you'll get your way.

In the meantime, there's plenty of other servers where you can use the AWP..

The Awp is just a lame 1 shot kill, most people who play online games can actually aim (not counting the countless nubs) but 7/10 people who use the awp can aim pretty well, if you want to be call skilled, use a gun that actually requires skill like a scout... not a one shot one kill gun. oh, and ban the Auto-Snipers + Shields :D

My sentiments exactly. We'll probably end up running a vote on this. It doesn't make much difference to me either way because I never use the autosnipers/shield. Personally I'd love to play CS with pistols and submachine guns only..

The sheild is useless in combat, because the minute you stick your arm out to shoot, i guarentee ill have a headshot on you. But, its mad fun when your just playing around :D
The awp being restricted is a little gimp, but... if people constantly whore it thats one thing.. but.. The way i do it is if i have an awp, im running right along with the team and helping them out just as much as if i had an m4 or ak. I dont not like awp_campers. sit in 1 little dark corner and camp , that ****es me off to no end. My way of thinking is if you want to use a powerful weapon such as the awp, make sure your still helping your team, and not just yourself....and if you cant do that then you shouldnt be using it at all.

the shield isnt lame - its easy to beat! buy a shotgun :)

i use the shield alot because it takes tactice on when to pull out ur gun and when to put it away, besides jsut shoot through the glass and they die easy enough :D

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind if all the sniper weapons were removed from the game. It might alleviate this urge to camp that people get. As Prometheus said on IRC, none of the maps are large enough. If you want to snipe at people, go and play America's Army or something..

Yes. I think you should be able to play with all weapons which are included in the game.
I think everyone hates if someone is sniping all the time, but the gun belongs to the game...
Anyways, I don't use the shield or any sniper, so u won't have any trouble with me... ;)
