Here's your opportunity to vote on the forum signature change.
Do you think the signatures should be made smaller or stay the same ? Should donators be allowed to have an increased signature size as a donators perk ?

As I said in mIRC

I dont have a problem with with sigs as such, however I do think there should be some sort of limit b4 ppl take the pee and get absoloutly huge sigs......... i did think it a good idea to maybe hv larger sigs for donators, that said if ppl can disable them in there UserCP then I cant see a huge problem
Larger sigs for donators could be one of the perks for ppl that donate ?

I've not got a huge problem with large sigs in terms of height and width, but some of the larger examples I've seen are slow to load up on broadband :)

Maybe it's just a case of setting a limit on the amount of Kilobytes a sig can use.

If that's possible.

Oh, and I'm all for donators getting perks. Seems only fair :)

i agree with the last option but the other hand i believe large proportion of members dont the aforementioned credit cards to donate money.

If anything i have a problem with the ott sized signatures but signatures which are just outside the proposed limit i don't see what the problem is.

Im all for it :)

If people could choose which signature they want to block then fair enough, as it is I don't have a problem with all of the signatures in here and don't feel the need to disable every one of them as it would make the forum "bland".

But surely its not the signatures that make the forum ? Its the threads and posts by people that make the forum.

Correct. This really all it boils down to. I don’t mind signatures as it helps make someone unique or at least stand out. But a signature is just that...a signature. Its not a profile picture its a signature (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=signature)!
If you really want a profile picture you can do that within your profile settings.

Going back to the point about the forum content is more important than signatures; I could solve all this by turning off signatures completely or remove the use of [IMG] tags. I didn’t want the forums to be boring and bland like others so chose to attempt to make ends meet by allowing the use of an [IMG] tag in the signature but, to stop what I think cluttered forums, there needed to be some limitation on sizes. Whilst I agree with donors being allowed more as a perk it still defeats the object of restricting sizes to stop the clutter ness of which it currently is.

What sort of size do you think are acceptable for standard or donors?

Tbh, i don't think that the size of my signature is oversized so maybe use that as a guideline ?

I agree with Prom tbh, I dont think the size of his signature is to large and maybe it would be a good idea to use that as a guideline.

As I've said b4 tho I do think its a good idea to put a limit on signatures, otherwise before long there is bound to be a pleb turn up with the most enourmous signature, so if the limitation is set out in the first place then there is no argument later.

I dont want to see forum signatures to be turned off either, this is why I mentioned the Edit options in the UserCP, at least with that ppl do have the option to turn them off on an individual basis.

I still think its quite a good idea to maybe allow slightly larger signatures for donators of the forum, as the more we have to offer in the way of perks the more likely we are to get ppl to donate.

If this were to happen all donators would recieve:
* Custom Profile
* Name in Orange
* Access to the Private Forums
* Larger Signature Option

So? I'm sure SK wouldn't mind if you dropped a few quid in an envelope..

Well, I think the last option is the best. :)

BUT maybe I say that because I'm a donator now... :rolleyes:
