I'm on my lunch break here, and my bud asked if i could bring my half -life cd key in for him so he could play Steam. Now, will I still be able to play Steam if I give him my key? Or will it say someting like your key is in use? And another thing, can I use my counterstrike cd key instead of half life to play steam? Thanks.

Just a tip ........Dont give your cd key to anyone!!!!!!

Well its the best thing to do, otherwise if they r online playing and are using ur cd key, you wont be able to.

With steam now your CDKEY is bound to your account. So if he tries to create a new account with your ID it will give him the error that the CDKEY is already in use. The CDKEY is technically your Licence to play the game. Its also what makes you unique from every other halflife player in the world. Either way do NOT give him your CDKEY, this would be like giving away my life :ravingmad:

i have 2 accounts on the same key...1 4 me, and 1 4 my server :)
