Petes TFC Server

Hey Guys

Just thought I would tell you a little about the TFC server that I play on
(and i am infact an admin on).

Its called Petes, 64.81.165.122:27015 and the map cycle is Avanti, Ksour and Dustbowl although there are many votable maps.

If you join the server when a custom map is playing and you dont have it dont worry, the map will auto download and load!

Its a friendly and fun place to play with many regulars, armour-stripping and foul language etc is not tolerated.

ps. the server can be a little quiet during the day but in the evening there is usually plenty of people playing.

I just noticed the server is in the US of A. Quite a ping from here :/

I usually ping at abt 150 on the that server.

I ping around 170 to 180 but with no loss and no choke its not a problem!

are the custom maps http hosted (i mean, does the server take advantage of http hosting?), and would there be anything else we might want to know about it?

http hosted? what does that mean exactly?

no need to be concerned with the custom maps they will automatically download and install, in just a couple of minutes....is that what your refering to?

Yeah this server uses sv_downloadurl, I know cause I connected to it when a custom map was on. Speaking of which tell him to fix his banner Yaesu. Its a 404 at the moment.

I played it the other night for the first time tbh, didnt hv a clue where I was going so just followed the crowd :/ Enjoyed it though, nice map :) I went sniper for a while, picked off quite a few of enemy :p

I had about a 200 ping also, having bots with such quick reactions also makes the game harder.

yeah, peeps complain about lag but tbh i dont find i have any problems with it, 0 loss and generally 0 choke with a high ping does´nt bother me at all.

i wonder how much of these lag issues are infact client side and not a problem with the server, i think alot of it depends on your settings and rates.

Isnt it a US server. If so your gonna get lag from across the pond. I played on it once when skimming through steam games, full server on ksour a map i didn't know existed, so i just joined :cool:
